Template notice for Mr. Ed's Plumbing: this page is a solid starting point written for a California home-services business, but it has not been reviewed by an attorney. Please have counsel check it against how you actually handle customer data before you rely on it.
Who we are
Mr. Ed's Plumbing & Rooter Service ("we", "us") is a plumbing contractor based at 3504 Grange Avenue, Stockton, CA 95204, serving Stockton and San Joaquin County, California. Contractor's License Number 1057119. This policy covers the information we handle through this website and in the course of providing plumbing services.
Information we collect
We only collect what we need to do the work and get back to you.
- Information you give us. When you submit a service request or contact form: your name, phone number, email address, the service you're interested in, your preferred contact method, and anything you write in the message field.
- Service information. If you become a customer: your service address, details of the work performed, and payment records.
- Technical information. Standard web server logs — IP address, browser type, pages visited, and referring page. These are generated automatically when any website is visited.
- Cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookie Policy for the full detail. The site currently sets no advertising or analytics cookies without your permission.
How we use it
- To respond to your service request or enquiry, usually the same business day.
- To schedule, perform and invoice plumbing work.
- To honour warranties on work we've carried out.
- To keep records required by California contractor licensing and tax law.
- To improve this website — but only with analytics you have opted into.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making, and we do not build advertising profiles about you.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where it is needed to do the job:
- Our technicians and office staff, so they can carry out and schedule your work.
- Payment processors, to take payment securely. We do not store full card numbers.
- Service providers who run our website and email, bound by contract to protect it.
- Your insurer, if you have asked us to help with a claim.
- Law enforcement or regulators, where we are legally required to do so.
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you, and where it came from.
- Request a copy of that information.
- Ask us to delete it, subject to records we are legally required to keep.
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information — see our Do Not Sell or Share page.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. We will not refuse you service, charge you more, or give you a lower standard of work.
To exercise any of these, call us on (209) 209-9829 or use our contact page. We will verify your identity before acting on a request, and we aim to respond within 45 days. You may also use an authorised agent.
We honour Global Privacy Control signals. If your browser sends one, we treat it as an opt-out of sharing automatically — you do not need to do anything else.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become jobs are kept for up to 24 months. Customer and job records are kept for as long as needed to honour warranties and meet California contractor licensing, insurance and tax obligations — generally at least four years.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and we apply reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to the information we hold. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — but we take it seriously.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Text messages and calls
If you give us your phone number we may call or text you about your service request or job. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to opt out of further texts; this will not affect calls about work already in progress.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.
